Post Malone‘s Early Life

Post Malone was born Austin Richard Post on July 4, 1995 in Syracuse, New York City. He was raised by his father and stepmother and while he was very young, they moved to Grapevine, Texas since his father got appointed as the manager of the Dallas Cowboys.

Being a DJ in his youth, his father introduced young Austin to a variety of music genres and helped him refine his music taste. Soon after, Post began to learn to play the guitar and ended up joining a heavy metal band. When he was 14 or 15, he chose the name Post Malone by combining his last name Post with a name he got from an online rap name generator – Malone.
